Chapter 13

“Addison! Addison, open up!”

Chloe pounded on the door to her neighbor’s flat, practically dancing with excitement.

“I’m coming, I’m coming.”

Addison yanked the door open and raised an eyebrow at her newly female friend. She had another half-eaten bowl of cereal in her hand, and Chloe shook her head in amusement.

“Breakfast foods? It’s 11pm.”

“I work the night shift sometimes, remember. Food is food to me. No ‘appropriate’ meal times. Are you coming in or are you just going to stand there and critique my dinner choices?”

“Yeah, yeah.”

“Should you still be stripping, anyway?”

Chloe scurried inside and yanked a pile of bills out of her purse. She fanned a handful of twenties in front of Addison.

“No need. I finished early, if you know what I mean.”

Addison whistled. “Holy shit, kid. I had no idea you were that kind of girl. But good for you. That’s some serious coin!”

Chloe fanned herself with the money. “Over four hundred dollars, Addison. Four hundred! One night! This is insane. I love stripping. I love it! And getting paid to have sex? Why doesn’t everyone do it?”

Addison sat down on the couch and grinned at her. “They do, sweet cheeks. Sometimes it’s just called ‘marriage’ instead of ‘prostitution.’”

“Whatever it’s called, I like it! And I want more of it.”

The girls giggled together on the couch, and then Addison gestured at Chloe around mouthfuls of cereal.

“Just set some of that aside for clothes and makeup. You can make up the rest tomorrow, and I’ll take you shopping this weekend for what you’ll need. And we need to get you started on some birth control right away, you little hussy.”

Chloe’s face paled. “Oh shit. Shit. Shit shit shit. I didn’t even think of that. I’ve been with two guys today, Addison!”

“And you didn’t make them cover up?”

Chloe blushed and Addison snorted.

“Wooow. Slut. Don’t worry, though. I got your covered. You can pop a plan B and I have a friend who can hook you up with a prescription.”

“Whew. That’s a relief! Wait, does this mean… oh man. Am I going to get a period too?” She remembered Addison’s earlier comment about tampons. She didn’t know the first thing about dealing with that kind of business!

Addison shrugged. “I don’t know how your hoodoo magic works, but I don’t see why you wouldn’t. Sorry lady. It’s part of being a real, live woman.”

Chloe groaned and sank back into the couch. “Man. All this messy reality kind of sucks the magic of the experience out.”

“Just wait till you get your period, you complainer. Then you can bitch to me about mess.”

Another bright red blush crept across Chloe’s cheeks. “Well, it doesn’t matter. This is all in good fun, but I’m heading back to that magic shop as soon as we get the rent sorted this month. I’ll be back to my old self way before I have to deal with any of that nonsense.”

Addison glanced at her and took another bite of her cereal, but didn’t reply.

“What?”

“What what?”

“You look miffed all of a sudden.
